Anyone who's spent time with Thomas knows about his Mary Poppins obsession. On Wednesday, Thomas went to New York to see Mary Poppins on Broadway: he loved it. The differences from the film didn't throw him off since its somewhat of a celebration of the movie. All of the iconography, the characters, costumes and music kept him engrossed for nearly three hours. He particularly enjoyed the song "Feed the Birds" and "Jolly Holiday," or The Burt Song as he calls it. He was beside himself at the end when there is a dance number around a giant Mary Poppins umbrella and when she does a little flight around the theater.
If he sees Whoopi Goldberg as Mary Poppins, he might ask Finoca or Ilda to dress like her.
